Christmas is approaching and London is starting to get into the holiday spirit. The Christmas lights on Oxford Street have been lit, Harrods has revealed their Christmas window display and the Somerset House ice rink has opened for the season. For some Londoners, one clear sign that Christmas has arrived is when all the Christmas markets start to pop up across London and you can find mulled wine and handmade Christmas decorations in every other corner.

One of the most popular Christmas markets in London is the annual market in Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland, which turns central London into a glittering Christmas paradise. The gates to this year’s market will open on Friday at 5pm and that’s why we’re making Hyde Park the place to be in London this week.
Even if you’re one of those who’s far from being in a Christmas mood and thinks that Halloween just only passed or if you’re a Christmas lover who started decorating your house and hum on Christmas carols in September, this market will definitely leave you in the Christmas spirit.

Winter Wonderland is free to enter so it’s a great place either if you want somewhere to hang out with your friends, bring a date or spend a fun day with the family. However keep in mind that some of the activities do cost money and can be good to book in advance so that you don’t end up with grumpy friends, an annoyed date or screaming children…
